2001 Infiniti I-30: Now This Is a Luxury Automobile!
There are not many positives about making the 200-mile drive from Austin to Houston every week: staying in hotels (even good ones) and eating three restaurant meals a day tends to pall after the second week or so. You start wishing you could just kick back on your porch with a couple of beers and... Read full review »
I30 is Looking Good
I recently tested the Infiniti I30t and there is no way this car won?t excite your senses. With its powerful engine, roomy interior, and indulgent amenities, the I30 was a pleasure to drive. And, because the I30 is moderately priced for a car this luxurious, your financial side won't be able to... Read full review »
Not your average bit of Tom-Foolery
When I first saw the 2001 I30 I became extremely frenzied and ecstatic. For real! Before I passed out with joy, my friends told me I was frothing
at the mouth and mumbling incoherently. But seriously, I had fallen in love at first sight with the newly redesigned Infiniti I30. And the more you...

Very controversial
I tried the car a couple of times and then switched to Lexus RX300, which turned out to be a way better car. To my opinion infinity cars are strongly overrated. Yes the ride is OK, and there is some comfort there too. But it lacks 4wheel drive like audi or Lexus rx300, good styling and the handling... Read full review »
Luxury for under $30K
There's basically three main competitors in the Asian near-luxury car market: the Acura TL, Infiniti I30, and Lexus ES300. All three are excellent cars. Your choice ultimately boils down to individual taste. In our case, we went with the I30; your mileage, of course, may vary.

Mixed experience
When I was shopping for a entry-level luxury vehicle, i had narrowed my choices to an Acura TL or an I30.. I had some concerns about build quality of the Acura as it's assembled in the US (I can't stand rattles and such) and I heard Infiniti really has good dealer service as opposed to snooty Acura... A Quality Luxury Car That's Very Different From It's Maxima Cousin
After my 1998 Maxima GLE lease was up I decided to upgrade to an Infiniti. I purchased a brand new pearl white 2001 I30 with every opinion except for the navigation system. My initial feeling was that the I30 was basically a Maxima is a tux. With 5 more hp. But after only a day of owning the car I... Read full review »
Excellent value truly luxurious sedan!!!
The car is well made by Nissan/Infiniti engineers. A lot of very smart and useful improvements made from Year 2000 model(and this is a completely different car from 199X I30 models). The fully loaded model (I30 Touring with all packages) outperforms every close competitors, such as Luxus GS300 and... Read full review »
Good engineering doesn't make the perfect car
When my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport was acting up again (see my review), I rented an Infiniti I30 for almost 2 weeks as I do a lot of driving for work.
Engine:
Much is said about Infiniti's smooth-as-silk engines and I was very impressed at how fast I could get this full size 4-door car...

NOT a souped-up Maxima!
I purchased my 2001 Infiniti I30t in October of 2000. I still do not regret it. I now have 35000 miles on it and the car still feels solid.
I was very impressed by the 3.0L 'VQ' V6 engine. The engine is very quiet and smooth at any speed. When you need to punch it to pass someone or...
