Cons Manual transmission, tippy handling feel (2.7T), power (2.8)

Within the field of automobile design, Audi is widely regarded as the leader. It is not hard to see why. While the A4 and the new TT get more attention, my personal favorite design is the A6. Over the past few years I have driven all four quattro varieties of the A6 sedan: the standard car, the... Read full review »

A6 4.2: Great car, but bad service kills it.

Pros Smooth ride with beautifully appointed amenities.
Cons Horrible service. Mind as well buy it from a sleazy used car dealer.
Recommended it? No

I purchased my 4.2 with much delight. This was my first German automobile. Being that I used to go skiing up in the mountains a lot back then, I wanted something with AWD. In the end, the choice between BMW 54x and A6 4.2 came down to AWD.

Styling:
Everyone asks me "Why does your A6... Read full review »

Before having this car, i was stuck with two american "cars" that just loved to not work. A 1993 Ford Explorer sport, and a 1996 oldsmobile cutlass supreme. the explorer loved gulping that gas as well. so i gave up on them both and desperately searched for a reliable machine, and one that could... It's truly a great thing to lose the car you previously owned because it was a junker. Well mine wasn't a "junker" but it was 5 years old with high miles. It was also a stripped down model, so the only thing that had the word "power" in it on the standard/optional equipment list was power steering... Read full review »

After 25000 miles, I still love my Audi A6 2.7T Quattro with Tiptronic shift and Sports suspension.

I have had no mechanical problems and I would highly recommend this car to anyone who wants the real deal in a roomy sports sedan. I'm 6-4, and have all the leg and head room I need and the... Read full review »

I've owned my 2001 A6 for 6 months now. My previous vehicles were 2 Porsches and a twin turbo Nissan Z. This is definitely a different car than those.

The absolute best thing Audi has going for it on this car in the interior. You'd have a hard time finding another car that looks and feels... Read full review »

Looking for a sports sedan in Nashville with a manual transmission proved to be a challenging experience; initial focus was squarely on a BMW 3-series, a car favored by many magazines and reviews. Wanted to spend as close to $25K as possible, I drove a 2000 BMW 323 - a tight car but surprisingly... Read full review »

Audi A6 2.8 Quattro: Owner Experience

I purchased a 2001 Audi A6 2.8 on September 1, 2000. Nearly 12 months later, I still love this car. The car developed a very slight transmission leak a few weeks after I took delivery - not very impressive for a car that has what is supposed to be a permanently sealed transmission (there's no... i drive my friends Audi a6 often and am often bewildered by what people will buy because of a label. Ask anyone about a hot car and Audi will surely top the list. I purchased my 2001 A6 2.7t Quattro Tiptronic in 2007 with 64,000 miles on it. When I was shopping for a new car to replace my 1994 Mercedes C-Class, I knew wanted 3 things, more style, more comfort, and more POWER.  I found all 3 in the A6. The body on this car is absolutely stunning. The... Read full review »
