Pros Great Ka sensitiviy, does not false on Ka. Extremely sensitive K. Autoscan mode (great)

Cons Falses on K band. understanding K falsing levels and duration makes this a non-issue..

The absolute best detector I have owned. I have had this for over a year without getting a ticket. 2 nights ago the 995 started going crazy. Ka, Pop and laser. Pros Good range, lots of features, nice looking/sounding unit

Cons FAR too many false alarms - this alone pretty much renders the unit useless

My previous radar detector was a Beltronics Vector 985. The 985 had become one of those 'industry standards', and most reviews will tell you that you cannot go wrong with that unit.

Pros Great Range, Great X,K, Ka band sensitivity and nice features.

Cons No smartcord or hard case, and no mutiple threat display readings

Recommended it? Yes

I did lots of research on this model and the Rx 65. Wanting something with Ku ability since in 2006 this band will be available to law enforcement by a major radar gun manufactor.

I bought the V955 first in preparation for my long trip from washinton State to Nevada. Test drove the V955 for over 200 miles. It was terrible, saw the cops first before it went off. My Vector 995 is a $279 paperweight after just 8 months of occasional use. First it started acting crazy suddenly giving full-strength false alarms in the middle of nowhere, now it just displays "service required".
