Pros Lightweight, high resolution, easy to use.
Cons Expensive batteries.
Recommended it? Yes

I was just going through my Epinions and realized I had not written a review on one of my cameras. I've had it for so long now that I thought I told everyone about how well this camera works. Since it's been a while since I've written a review on a camera and looking back at my previous reviews, I... Read full review »

When you're ready to move beyond point and shoot

byDiamondDave Mar 17, 2000
14 Helpfuls 15 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros very versatile
Cons not as convenient to carry as a point & shoot
Recommended it? Yes

I first saw the Minolta Maxxum line back in the late 1980's, and ever since then, I knew that this was the kind of camera I've wanted to own.

But I bought a point and shoot due to sheer convenience and price. It was an excellent camera, and still is, but eventually my picture taking skills... Read full review »

Starting out? This is for you...

byeau Dec 19, 2000
11 Helpfuls 12 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros small and lightweight, not too expensive
Cons could have more features, feels cheap
Recommended it? Yes

This is a great camera to learn on. Not as imposing as a fully manual body, yet more functional than a point and shoot.

This body gives you one great feature: eye-start, which will turn on the camera when you put it up to your eye, which I found is great, it saves having to switch on,... Read full review »

Pros Great resolution!!!!
Cons Expensive batteries
Recommended it? Yes

When I had my first child I took picture all the time. The camera I had was okay, but the resolution on the camera made my beautiful new child look a little...well, fuzzy! However, I continued to use it.

When I got pregnant with my second child I kept hearing that there would never be as... Read full review »

0) Overview:

I have owned this camera for a year now and I am quite happy with it. I bought it as a replacement for my Minolta X-700 which I owned for 14 years. The X-700 was still running strong, but I wanted something with auto-focus and an automatic flash. The X-700s are still selling... Read full review »

Parenting tip # 11

bymyopinionis Jun 26, 2000
7 Helpfuls 8 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Ease of use, autofocus, continuous shots, price, feature rich
Cons More expensive than most point and shoot cameras, some unituative controls
Recommended it? Yes

If you're a parent and your kids are walking or better, then you need this camera!

For a long time we used a 'point and shoot? camera that was adequate for our everyday needs. For really nice photos I used my trusty old Olympus OM-1 which doesn?t lend itself very well to capturing candid... Read full review »

MINOLTA XTsi Camera Body

bymariner1 Jan 8, 2000
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Function control, light weight, versatility
Cons Battery hungry, expensive
Recommended it? Yes

The Minolta XTsi series of camera bodies is an outstanding addition to the Maxxum family. It is markedly lighter than the original Maxxum 5000-7000 series, weighing only 387 grams, and infinitely more versatile. While my faithful Maxxum 7000 will stay around, the new XT allows me to do everything... Read full review »

Anyone who practices the art of photography as a career or hobby seem to have brand loyalty when it comes to their camera and film equipment. Since I was 16, my camera brand of choice has been Minolta.

I bought this body with the intention of learning and growing into it. I have since moved on to a more pro body, but love to shoot a roll of film just for fun every now and then.

This camera is REALLY easy to use and has more features than you know what to do with. It's a great camera for... Read full review »

Pros Small, Light, Quiet, Good looking, Plenty of Features and Accessories
Cons Can't really think of any

Well I bought this camera for #220 in the UK (where I live) after I broke my first proper camera, a Zenit TTL. Thus far the Minolta 505si Super which is what we call it over here has performed faultlessly during a short holiday where it was used entirely on Program (Fully automatic) mode
