The Bottom Line:
This program is a necessity if you are into heavyduty graphics design/photo editing, or if you are a creative soul looking for an alternative means to express yourself.
While the cost for this software may turn many buyers off to it, one must simply think about the programming time that the developers put into creating this masterpiece. Also, the productivity and creative output will, in the end, justify the price tag. Don't be scared about buying this, but then again, make sure you plan on using it often and extensively. Recommended for advanced graphics and image design. The freehand and abstract drawing capabilities of this program are nearly limitless, but for heavier use of 3D modeling, you may want to consult a different program. Photography enthusiasts will want to check this program out because of the inexhaustible supply of editing accomodations and features. Beginners will probably feel overwhelmed, and may not know where to start. However, if online tutorials and instructions are consulted, the learning curve is fast and easy, and the program becomes fairly intuitive. Only true professionals can unlock the more complicated features of Photoshop, there are plenty of aspects of photo editing contained in this program that are still unbeknownst to me. If you want to edit photos or if you're involved in graphics design, this program is one of the must-haves.
Support for multiple filetypes, as well as the capability to save as many filetypes, is a great feature. Also, my copy of Photshop CS came bundled with Adobe ImageReady, which provides a means to create animated .gifs, which you are unable to do with Photoshop itself.
