The Bottom Line:
Work easier and recover that lost unusable desk space by replacing that bulky CRT monitor with a much more compact PL2010M LCD monitor.
The Planar PL2010M monitor is well worth it's weight in gold. I just replaced my Viewsonic PS790 19" CRT monitor with this extremely compact LCD display monitor. I am not kidding when I say compact. The box in which the Viewsonic tube monitor came in would easily hold maybe five of these Planar monitors, in their boxes best of all you can hold the monitor in one hand.
Set-up for the monitor was as easy as taking it out of the miniscule box, plugging in the power and all of the source cables from your CPU.
After turning the monitor on and booting up the CPU, I adjusted the Screen resolution and Color Quality to the maximum 1600x1200 and Highest(32 bit) settings before looking at some of my digital photography projects.
The colors are vivid and the details are crisp and sharp, just as I had shot them with my digital camera.
My desk area has increased a by quite a bit as the footprint of the 2010 is less than a third of a CRT monitor. What's even better is that you don't need to find that deep corner or corner computer desk to bury the back end of a tube monitor.
Ease of use with this LCD display, as you don't get the "flicker" as you normally get from a CRT display as the image is constantly refreshing. I'm finding myself being able to work longer on tasks that require looking at the screen for long periods of time (Photoshop and AutoCad).
These flat panel LCD are much cooler in operation, they emit little or no heat and any fears of radiation thrown off of a CRT are completely eliminated.
Best of all virtually all glare has been eliminated off of the surface of the screen.
