The techno-idiot is back with another review of a Palm product, the Palm Portable Keyboard (OK, OK, so it was really made by Think Outside). Anyone who has read my previous reviews knows that I'm completely infatuated with my Palm m100. Of course, it doesn?t take much to get me excited.

Pros convenient, no more grafitti writing, compact
Cons must be on flat area, kind of flimsy
Recommended it? Yes

I got my husband a Handspring Visor Deluxe last year as a gift ( as mentioned in previous opinion). I don't know if you know too much about PDA's but you have to learn a grafitti writing style with them.

Well on with my story I go...My husband was at work one night and he IMS me on AOL... Read full review »

Pros Lightweight, Opens From Compact to Fullsize
Cons Needs Flat Surface to Stay Open
Recommended it? Yes

I resisted this nifty device for quite some time but I finally bought one and I?m glad I did!

I don?t like taking my laptop with me on short business trips as it?s too heavy and bulky. Plus, I use it mostly for notes, memos and email and it seems like overkill to take along a six pound... Read full review »

Targus Keyboard Stows Away, But Doesn't Pull Own Weight

byJoubert Oct 18, 2001

Pros Snappy design and easy installation for the handheld killer app...
Cons ...but it doesn't work well and is hard to return!
Recommended it? No

Please forgive any thumping noises emanating from your computer. Having fallen in love with my Jornada 540, I soon purchased a Targus Stowaway Keyboard that allowed my new Pocket PC to function as an uber-laptop. The keyboard remains a great idea, folding neatly and quickly, but is not without its... Read full review »

Palm Folding Keyboard: The perfect companion to the Palm

bySlusy Sep 17, 2000

Pros Unfolds quickly, compact, stylish
Cons Needs to rest on a flat surface, keys sometime slide around, expensive
Recommended it? Yes

I'll admit it: My handwriting is atrocious. There, I've said it. Normally, it's not a problem, except when I need to take notes quickly and accurately by hand. I can get one or the other, but not both; I either get everything down but can't read it, or I can read the notes but miss details.

Pros small, easy to carry, no batteries, data input much easier.
Cons runs off of the palms battery power, puts extra drain on the batteries.
Recommended it? Yes

the keys feel great, its easy to write with, and makes data input 100 times easier than the palms annoying, and ineffective handwriting recognition software. if you want a means of taking notes without springing for a laptop, this is the way to go. sure the shortcuts are hard to learn, but who... Pros Beautifully crafted, the finishing touch for a PDA.
Cons Some of the special software functions can be hard to master.
Recommended it? Yes

Road warriors rejoice! The PDA has just become totally useful. I must admit that I have had second thoughts about my Palm Pilot since Day 1, because without a reasonably sized keyboard, data entry, report writing and all those things that you really need a keyboard for were to say the best... Why carry a Laptop?

I first say it in the store and new I had to have one. i use to carry an old HP booktop around which was big and bulky. I wanted something smaller and versatile. This little keyboard is everything and more. It will decrease your luggage any where you go, especially... Read full review »

Why you might stay away from the Stowaway Portable Keyboard.

byPGenocide Jan 29, 2001

Pros Nice design, very small and light weight.
Cons Not very strong, sort of flimsy and needs a hard surface.

The Design
Well you have to give them some credit. The design is really awesome to say the least. It folds out of its own case and you push the three segments together to form a keyboard. Its extremely light weight, and while in its folded state, very durable. While open though, its another... Read full review »

Compact, elegant design and thoughtful shortcuts

byhenrywei May 3, 2000
22 Helpfuls 23 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Extremely compact, well-built, and good integration with Palm OS
Cons Can't type on lap; some driver software issues; no pass-through for modems, etc.
Recommended it? Yes

The first thing I thought when I opened the shipping box was, "Wow, that's a small box." And, of course, when I opened the retail box itself, I thought, "Wow, that's a tiny keyboard." It truly is the size of about two Palm III's stacked together. Installation was easy; the CD-ROM supplied with the... Read full review »
