Incredible Player for an Incredible Price
Everyday on my way to the office I have the opportunity to read articles from a couple of magazines in my own effort to refresh and update my internal hard drive and stay informed about what's going on in the world. I open everything from foreign newspapers to small publications while chatting with... Read full review »
iRiver Slim-X washes away the competition
Slobber...
That's likely the first reaction you'll have when you see the Slim-X from iRiver. Looking at my RioVolt (the current SP100 model) and my brother's TDK Mojo, the Slim-X already looked much cooler than those two. My oh my... how the MP3-CD players have advanced.
The...

Best mp3/cd Player Available
Introduction
I first read about the iRiver SlimX on cnet.com. I was looking for something to replace my Apple iPod (I liked it, but the software I had to install crashed my computer) and I saw that the SlimX was a cnet "editor's choice." After doing some more research, I learned that...

iRiver SlimX CD & MP3 player - A solid workhorse gracefully going out to pasture
Before the days of inexpensive hard drive based MP3 players, there was a line of MP3 players that were CD based. Since was the far more economical way of storing music because of instead of paying $500 for a gig, I could pay half that for roughly 700 Megs multiplied by however many CDs I could... Absolutely Unbeatable...
~~ Intro ~~
I've never really loved any of my past CD players...but this thin piece of technology has won my heart & changed the way I listen to music. Complete with an intuitive electroluminescent backlit remote, this super-portable device gives you the power to keep playing your old CDs...

Definitely best mp3/cd on the market right now
This is by far the best mp3/cd player one could get and I don't think anyone looking for an mp3/cd player should second guess their decision to get an iriver slimx, except maybe if the price tag is a little high for them, I got mine for 170 which is a little steep, but still, by far the best value... It's not for everyone; is it for you?
First off, finding iRiver products is very difficult in North America. Especially if you don't feel like going through online sources - honestly, online shopping sucks for those of us who wants the product NOW. For those of you in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada, an electronic outlet store at... Read full review »
Slim and Xtremely capable!
I have finally decided to retire the poorly engineered and made D-Link roq-it MP3 jukebox. This piece of junk could not keep playing music even when I was hiking.
The replacement selection was not easy, I had to select from a variety of hard drive based, solid state and CD-R based MP3...

iRiver SlimX - Best Mp3 CD Player
After reading all the highly rated reviews here and on cnet.com, I couldn't resist, and I went out and bought the iRiver SlimX. Everything about this player is great. Its design, interface, size, EVERYTHING is well thought out and works perfectly. This is simply the only mp3 cd player that you... Read full review »
Good and bad player
I've had mine for about 2 years. Very solid. I've treated it like crap and it hasn't really lost any steam. The sound quality is pretty good and the real metal shell is really classy. One problem is that because its so thin it can't take AA batteries in the actual unit. If you want to have the unit... Read full review »
