This wine is from Israel, Galilee region. The Yarden Merlot shows great personality, combining ripe berry and cherry notes with jam, spice, chocolate and nuances of orange peel. These characters are highlighted with a background of rich oak and vanilla. This Merlot is full-bodied, complex and delivers a long, tasty finish. Yarden Merlot drinks well now, but will continue to improve with a few years of age. This wine should stay in good shape for up to a decade if stored in good conditions. We enjoy Yarden Merlot with bold flavors such as moussaka, grilled spicy lamb sausages, or a perfectly cooked rack of lamb roasted over a bed of fresh rosemary. The wine has a clear, brilliant ruby colour with a slightly garnet tint and a refined nose that opens on jammy red fruit and autumnal aromas, mingled with vanilla and a touch of toast. Round and smooth on the palate, it displays a fine balance between flavour and structure; notes of wild berry and fruit liqueur are enfolded in pleasant tannins, positive without being aggressive. Attractive oak flavours return in a highly expressive finish which asserts and perfectly reveals the wine`s origin and terroir.

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. Our second label, RED C, is made predominantly from grapes grown at the Young Family Vineyard in Napa Valley, just south of St. Helena. Like Covenant, RED C is made from 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon. The blend includes some of the barrels from Covenant that don't make it into our premier bottling, but that still show excellent character and finesse. Because RED C includes a bit of press wine, it remains in barrels for an extended period and is released some 6 months later than Covenant.
