Pros The pump makes the machine much more convenient.
Cons The control electronics are poorly designed for many applications.

When I needed a new dehumidifier, I was happy to find that the DeLonghi DE400P had a pump so that I could route the hose into my laundry sink instead of having to run a hose across the floor to a drain, or to empty the tank constantly.  So far, the dehumidifier is working well, and the pump is... Pros performed flawlessly for >3 years. works in low temperatures. reliable. pretty stylish...
Cons hard to move when full. would've prefered secondary air or hepa filter.

I live in Alaska. Southeast, where it doesn't get TOO cold, but, until this summer, its never been what I call warm. >90% of the time, our local temp is within 15 degrees of 45 degrees F.
